Information for Vendors

The Oregon State University (OSU) Master Gardeners Douglas County is a volunteer organization in collaboration with OSU Extension Service. This program educates Oregonians about the art and science of growing and caring for plants. This program also facilitates the training of a highly educated corps of volunteers who extend sustainable gardening information to their communities through education and outreach programs. Established in 1984, the Douglas County Master Gardeners Chapter is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that functions to support OSU and the community through educational projects.

Master Gardeners are trained volunteers, educated through OSU Extension Service to offer the local community Reliable, Relevant and Reachable gardening information and education opportunities.

Reliable:   Our gardening advice and education is science-based.
Relevant:   We offer customized information for your gardening situation.
Reachable:   Call, e-mail, or visit us at our Plant Clinic, community markets, and at our showcase Discovery Garden.
Plant Clinic Information - For Master Gardener Advice

We are happy to answer questions about gardening, orchards, landscaping, composting, garden insects, plant diseases, or related topics. If you would like us to diagnose a plant disease or pest, please bring a sample with you. Our plant clinic schedule varies by month and is listed below.

Getting Your Soil Tested

We have chemicals on back order from the manufacturer so, unfortunately, we are pausing soil testing at this time. When the chemicals arrive we will let you know. We look forward to being of service in the near future hopefully the end of December/January!

In the meantime, if you would like to have your soil tested please follow this link for a list of official list of labs in Oregon.

Soil testing can be done any time your soil isn’t frozen or overly wet. The best time of year for sampling is in the spring or fall. How to take a Soil Sample
