Chapter History
The Chapter of the Douglas County Master Gardeners was started in 1984 under the direction of Dr. Karl Carlson, John Stelzer, and Kelly Stelzer. The Oregon State Extension Horticultural Agent at that time was Jeff Olson. Jerry Maul was the Horticultural Agent between 1986 and 1999. Jeff Choate assumed the role of Master Gardener agent coordinator in 1999 for a year. Steve Renquist was Douglas County's Horticultural Agent from 2000 until early 2022. In mid-2022, Logan Bennett became our MG Program Coordinator.
